 Behold! The magnificence that is the Steampunk Shark Submersible, built by Eurobricks member Legobodgers for the To Sail the Technic Sea..." contest. This is possibly the worst submersible ever due to the fact that it couldn't actually submerge without killing the passenger.

 Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers, of course.

 This week I'm showasing Hammerstein NWC's steampunk version of Jedi training. This is a really cool model, one of the best re-imaginings of Star Wars I ever seen. I love the way the lightsaber is attached with a chain, like it has a battery pack. I applaud Hammerstein on his creativity and Lego building mastery.

 Well, I can't show this week's entry, as the creator, Simon (Si-MOC), has disabled downloading, but here's a link. This week I'm showcasing a steampunk Imperial shuttle, actually Simon's second attempt. I like all the little miscellaneous details that really say, "I'm steampunk."

 And, once again, a CUUSOO project has reached 10,000 supporters. This time the project, submitted by user tbone_tbl, is actually really cool. 'Firefly Serenity playset' is the name, and, as you may have guessed, it's Serenity from Firefly, a show tragically cut short. I'm just a little disappointed in this model in that the outside could've been more realistically rendered. The set will apparently feature rotating engines, a lit-up firefly drive, and an accessible cockpit and dining area.

 This week's installment focuses on Mark Stafford's (lego_nabii) Tri-terrortops, a mechanized war machine that resembles a triceratops. This thing actually walks! Very slowly. You can see a video of it walking on Mark's Flickr stream.

 It would seem this week was a rather slow one in the Lego steampunk community. I didn't find anything that I thought was really great, so I settled with this airship from tikitikitembo. This was tikitikitembo's first attempt at the steampunk genre, and it was a pretty good first attempt.

Steampunk Sunday: April Fool's

 Ha! You guys thought I'd go another week without everyone's favorite feature. It was my April Fool's prank... no, actually I was busy yesterday and I forgot. But here it is.
 This week I'm featuring Felipe Avelar's (Felipe Descomplicado) Steampunk Walker Crane, powered by Mindstorms. In the video Felipe posted showing the crane's operation, it seems that all the motor can do is make the thing walk. The circle may be a consequence of the tile floor.

 It's that time of week again, the time when we all gather around and marvel at times past. This week's entry comes from Salsariss. After seeing a similar orrery done by V&A Steamworks, Salsariss was inspired to build this one. The planets revolve around the star, with the outer planets revolving slower than the inner ones. And the star revolves as well. Apparently, it's not yet finished, but it certainly is well under way.

 I found this on BrickBounty, where it had been reposted from an old FBTB forum. The above Naboo fighter and the four other MOCs posted were the winners of a contest held on the forum. The above picture is my favorite, but the other ones featured are awesome too. Except for "General Greeves' Amazing Wheel Bike." That one just didn't really impress me.

 This thing is beast! Flickr user Matthew Maulfair built this really awesome re-imagining of a stream-driven Tie Fighter. Somehow, though, I don't think it's spaceworthy.

 Matt Armstrong (monsterbrick) built this steampunk hand pistol. Like last week's Clockwork Wyrm, this gun is built mostly from Bionicle and Technic pieces. And it really does look like a gun a lady of high society might carry in her handbag in some alternate steampunk universe.

 V&A Steamworks built this Clockwork Wyrm of Arcane Magicks mostly out of Bionicle and Technic pieces. Actually, mostly Bionicle pieces. You can see several swords, chest plates, and Visorak head/bodies. And it's gold and shiny!

New Feature: Steampunk Sundays

 Everybody loves steampunk. So I decided to introduce a new weekly feature, showcasing original steampunk creations. This week I'm showcasing Beau Donnan's (Ɍaillery) "Destroyer-Class" Light Steam Railship Mk. XXXIII.
 This is a neat armored train, featuring 2 turrets. They look like they turn, but I'm not sure. I like that he added smoke coming out of the top.
 This railship is actually part of a much larger set Ɍaillery built, Steam War Machines. It's a large set, and he even wrote a little backstory for it. It's really neat. Check it out.
